Create Attractive Emails with the Visual Editor

When building marketing emails, you have the choice of using our original editor, or the visual editor. Using the visual editor makes creating multi-column, mobile friendly emails super easy! Elements can be dragged and dropped into place, and the preview mode allows you to see what it would look like on different sized screens.

The merge fields from letters are also available, letting you insert your donor’s name or other information directly into the email.

Easily Comply with the CAN SPAM Act

The CAN SPAM act has a number of requirements that Donor Wrangler helps you comply with. Emails are divided into two groups–relationship and marketing–and each email sent contains a link that allows for the user to opt out of any type of correspondence they no longer wish to receive. Create Multiple Email Lists

(They can continue to opt out of such communications if they desire.) Each of the 3 email addresses on a donor’s profile can be added or removed to the lists you create.

Track Email Delivery Status

The status of your emails, as well as any “events” (such as the opening of an email, clicking of a link, etc.) are tracked so you know whether or not the email was received.

Yes. The Marketing Emails module is our only add-on feature with a set monthly fee at this time. The pricing is based not on the number of contacts you have, but the number of emails that you send. Pricing is currently as follows:

  • $25/month – Up to 10,000 sent emails
  • $35/month – Up to 15,000 sent emails
  • $40/month – Up to 20,000 sent emails
  • $45/month – Over 20,000 sent emails

The CAN SPAM Act creates a distinction between relationship emails and marketing emails. Marketing emails have stricter requirements than relationship emails. For instance, you can generally send a relationship email without requiring prior consent from the donor. However, this is not the case for marketing emails. Per the above link, an email is a relationship email if it consists only of content that:

  1. facilitates or confirms a commercial transaction that the recipient already has agreed to;
  2. gives warranty, recall, safety, or security information about a product or service;
  3. gives information about a change in terms or features or account balance information regarding a membership, subscription, account, loan or other ongoing commercial relationship;
  4. provides information about an employment relationship or employee benefits; or
  5. delivers goods or services as part of a transaction that the recipient already has agreed to.

For non-profits, this means that donation receipts, reminders for recurring donations, reminders of previously agreed to volunteer activity, reminders about an event the donor has already signed up for, etc. would constitute relationship emails. However, donation appeals, newsletters, requests for volunteers, the promotion of an annual gala or event, and other types of emails would all be marketing emails. It is up to the organization to correctly categorize their emails that are sent through Donor Wrangler.
